What are the Methods for Canon Printer Troubleshoot?

 

The printer can cause issues if there is an empty ink tank or it is not settled properly. The other issues can be related to its setup, hence, you can resolve the issue with the methods mentioned below.

 

Method 1: Issue with Ink Tank

 

·        Always check for the printer’s ink tank. If this is the issue a message for running out of ink will popup on your printer screen.

·        Ink Tank Installation - To confirm, open the scanning unit (printer cover) and check the ink lamps. In case of sufficient ink, the lamp will flash red light. Hence, take out the ink tank and install it again properly.

·        Install Ink Tank Securely: if the lamp does not light, it has ink filled in. However, press the push mark until it clicks into its place.

 

Method 2: Queued Jobs in Printer

 

·        The power cut or shutting down PC meanwhile the printing may result in hanging jobs for the printer.

·        Restart the PC and test if it works properly.

·        If it still has an issue:

·        Open printer property dialog box>>Maintenance tab>>View printer status>>Display Print Queue>>Cancel all documents in the printer menu>>click Yes.

·        It deleted all the pending print jobs.

 

Method 3: Printer is not Ready

 

·        This is one of the common issues. The printer will not respond if there is no proper power supply. It will cause an issue if the USB cord is not plugged in properly.

·        Besides, if you are using a relay device, remove it and connect the USB directly. Test printing. If it works the issue was in the relay device.

·        Further, if the inner cover is open, close it. Click on Ok and resume the printing.

·        Note that the above-mentioned causes and solutions are general issues. However, the technical issues are dealt with in a different manner.

 

Method 4: Outdated Printer Drivers

 

·        To fix the printing issue, check if your printer drivers are up to date.

·        Visit the Canon support page.

·        Enter your printer’s model number and check for updated drivers.

·        Select your printer’s module name.

·        Download the drivers for your printer and install the file as per instructions.

 

Method 5: Reset the Printer

 

·        Turn OFF the printer.

·        Disconnect the USB cord.

·        Unplug the printer power cord for approximately 10 minutes.

·        Reconnect the USB cord in the wall outlet and power cord in the power board.

·        Turn on your printer power and reprint.

 

Method 6: Network Disconnectivity

 

·        First, confirm if you have entered the correct wi-fi password (if changed).

·        If the password is correct, unplug the router for 15-20 minutes and reconnect them, and test printing.

·        Printout Network Settings:

·        If printout shows an active network with strength less than 80%, move the devices closer or remove obstacles placed between them.

·        If printout shows an active network with a strength of more than 80%, disable the firewall software and try again.
